Image restoration
As long as we humans have been painting pictures and later taking photos there have been a need for restoring damaged pictures.
The images have been exposed for damages like scratches, cracks, spilled water etc. People did not settled with trying to the restore back to the
original pictures though; they started to retouche them, removing unwhanted detalis.
With the digitization era new possibilities for restoring and enhancing images have arized.
Color correction, illumination compensation, white balancing, nois removal, and filling in missing parts are only a few of the different
image restoration and enhancement methods used to day.
