Summary: The concept of extended reality includes virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality. While virtual reality is an artificial world constructed by computer graphics, augmented and mixed reality deal with the blending of the physical world with artificial graphical objects. The latter two rely heavily on computer vision, sensor processing and computer graphics. The lecture will cover the concepts of realities, their approaches, the devices available and some theoretical background.
