PACS - is it all we need?

• PACS responsible for image(!!!) archiving and communication

• No storage & export of:

  • Data volumes e.g. raw data
  • Digital videos (e.g. virtual endoscopy)
  • 3D models
  • Rendering parameters, clip plane positions, segmentation parameters etc.
  • Limited support of medical workstations for multimedia
