Abstract:
The Fourier Transform is the most important method for data analysis in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS). A special feature of Fourier-MRI is the special encoding of the signal which result in a direct measurement of the Fourier coefficients of the final image. The lecture will address basic aspects of data processing in MR-Spectroscopy, the encoding of the signal in MR Fourier imaging, the concept of the k-space and different important properties and typical artifacts of Fourier imaging. Fourier imaging includes as basic principle linear filtering.
