Abstract: MR
phase contrast images are images displaying the velocity
distribution of blood and tissue in a tomographic slice. The purpose
of this review is to describe the basic idea of MR phase contrast
technique, to explain how pulsatility of blood flow is handled, to
give an overview of potential sources of errors within this method
and to present quantities typically derived via image postprocessing
of phase contrast images.
