The reverse engineering capabilities of a software tool system
are essential for the process of analyzing and understanding complex software
systems during its maintenance, re-engineering and re-architecturing phases.
There are several commercial reverse engineering tools on the market providing
different capabilities. We evaluated the TDE/Columbus system in terms of
reverse engineering issues. For the assessment criteria an existing evaluation
work has been taken as the basis. Our evaluation results show that the
subject system has some interesting features comparing to the existing
reverse engineering tools on the market.
